Healthcare Facilities in Solapur

It is the responsibility of the Government and the local authorities of a place to monitor and provide the facilities for the health care of the people who live there. It is proposed to increases the number of beds of two primary health centers to 30 for which a provision of Rs 21. 60 lakhs has been made.

The medical officer, who is in over-all charge of the primary health center, is responsible for providing both preventive and curative services to the people. He works under the technical and administrative control of District Health Officer. There is health visitor or nurse-midwife under the medical officer in charge of the primary health center. The Sanitary Inspector visits villages to check environmental sanitation and to carry out vaccinations, disinfection of water-supplies and inspection of sites.
